Flathead lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in the West and is bordered by Glacier National Park and the Mission Mountains & Bob Marshall Wilderness area. Kayaks are a great way to get out on the water and enjoy the wildlife of Flathead Lake. For some people a nice quiet paddle is just what they are looking for. You can take a 2 to 3 hour paddle from Walsted fishing access point on the north end of Flathead Lake to Wild Horse Island.
